CHILDREN at a primary school have been writing poetry about how their school includes children of all backgrounds and abilities.
Youngsters at Pelham Primary School, Pelham Road, Bexleyheath, did their work for a national poetry competition run by the National
Association of Special Education Needs (NASEN).
Four of the children were highly commended for their poems, which have been included in the NASEN children's anthology of poetry A Recipe for Inclusion.
Alex Bakewell and Alice Hawkins, both 11, were highly commended for their poem Friendship.
Symran Bhogun-Scott and Katie Andrew, both 10, were highly commended for their work, which was called Communication.
The children all wrote their poems while attending Pelham Word Wizards - an after-school writing club.
