THEY were a vision in pink, despite their hairy chests and legs and some very strange hairdos.
And they were also the male players from Erith Rugby Club, who took on a team of wives, girlfriends and daughters to raise cash for charity Macmillan Cancer Care.
The match was played in high spirits at the club in Sussex Road, Northumberland Heath, with the ladies' team proving triumphant, running in nine tries to the men's two.
Half-time was an elegant affair for the ladies, who refreshed themselves with pink champagne and canapes, while the men made do with lager drunk from watering cans.
The match was played in memory of a former member who died from cancer two years ago.
Her widower presented a memorial trophy to the woman player of the match.
It is hoped the event will raise more than £1,500 for the cancer charity and it will become an annual attraction at the club.
