Police appeal for rescuers to come forward

TWO people who came to the rescue of a couple of schoolgirls who had been attacked and assaulted could hold vital information about the attackers.

Bexley police are appealing for the man and woman who witnessed the incident on April 23 to come forward.

The unprovoked attack was launched on two 12-year-old girls in Falconwood Parade, near the community centre, at about 3pm.

Up to three other girls, aged between 16 and 20, beat the schoolgirls, injuring both of them.

The man and woman, who was wearing a red top, saw the attack and came to the aid of the girls, but left without giving their details.

Police want to hear from them and anyone else who witnessed the attack.

Any witnesses should call PC Russ James from the Falconwood and Welling Safer Neighbourhoods Team on 07747 565410 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
