CONCERN about the lack of education for young people in the developing world has prompted pupils of one secondary school to call in the Bexleyheath and Crayford MP.

Year 7 and Year 8 pupils at Bexleyheath School, Woolwich Road, Bexleyheath, quizzed Tory MP David Evennett about what his party intends to do to help resolve the problem of a lack of teachers worldwide.

Students created paper chains of children to represent those overseas who cannot get access to schooling.

The event was organised by teachers Emily Beer and Laura Ayley, who said the pupils' Make A Teacher campaign made the children more aware of how political systems can be used to create change.
