SCHOOLCHILDREN took part in an assembly to mark National Holocaust Memorial Day.
Youngsters from Heronsgate Primary School, Whinchat Road, Thamesmead, were joined by Greenwich mayor Councillor Harry Singh for a minute's silence to remember Holocaust victims on January 26.
Cllr Singh said: "It's fitting schools mark this day because children represent our future.
"By reflecting on such events, we can prevent the horrors of the past being repeated in the future."
He added: "The memorial day remembers everyone who has suffered at the hands of genocide, torture and murder in both distant and recent conflicts."
