War threat fuels fear

There is much fear in the land. Elderly ladies feel more vulnerable when they see irresponsible US politicians declaring war on TV.

George W Bush says vengeance will be exacted, not merely on the terrorists, but also those who harbour them.

This could be anywhere. It could be Woolwich.

Visit the local shopping centre to see how Woolwich has been invaded.

All the foreign costumes, faces of all colours and shapes, a hundred languages and religions what do these people know of the history and principles of the native people of the town and country in which they live? It could well be they are grateful for the refuge given and the tolerance and control, but it could be otherwise.

It is difficult to reassure vulnerable old ladies and tell them there is nothing to fear.
