I would like to respond to a letter regarding workmen not being responsible for parking problems in Locksbottom. Of course if we want a new hospital, we have to accept some inconvenience whilst it is built.

The new car park cannot be put in until the hospital is up and running and all patients removed from the old buildings in order to make the space available for this to be done.

Unfortunately the space provided will not be adequate enough to accommodate all the staff let alone out-patients, casualties and visitors etc.

For those of us living nearby our roads have now become a car park and the inconsiderate and dangerous parking is unbelievable!

We have asked the council to yellow band sharp corners and road entrances but to no avail. A traffic warden has never been seen.

I hope we never need a fire engine or ambulance, because they would not be able to get down the road.

What is beyond belief is that the council chose not to make adequate parking a priority when the hospital was first planned.
