POEMS, prose and drama are already being delivered to Harlow writing group the Inn Scribers ahead of the Write Event, which starts next month.

Supported by an Awards for All grant, the five-day celebration of the written word begins on Monday, April 23, as part of the Harlow Arts Festival.

The event will feature daily lunchtime talks by published writers between 11am and 4pm in the town centre. Admission is free.

Inn Scribers secretary Maureen Clarke said: "We're absolutely delighted at this early response. Obviously there is a lot of untapped talent in the area waiting to express itself."

Anyone visiting, living or working in Harlow during the festival can send a piece of their own original writing to the Inn Scribers, c/o Nick Bullions, Arts Development Officer, The Playhouse, Harlow CMF20 1LB.

The best work will be published in a town-wide anthology.
