November 15, 2000 18:34: RUNAWAY teenager Serene Morden returned home to her parents in Radlett this week.
The 15-year-old was missing for a fortnight before she called police on November 1, following an appeal by Hertfordshire Constabulary and her parents, Jeremy and Shopna Morden.
Following her daughter's return home on Monday evening, Mrs Morden, of Beech Avenue, said: "We are delighted to have her home and that it has ended happily."
Serene had been staying at friends' homes for the five weeks before she went missing, saying she needed breathing space. Her parents became concerned when she started missing school.
Mrs Morden, 45, said Serene had returned home from a friend's of her own accord, adding: "We are trying to go through the process of healing and what went wrong as a family. We have not been living for the last nine weeks."
