Devon and Cornwall Police have launched a murder investigation after a woman's death in Brixington
Murder police are trying to trace a man suspected of killing his mother.
Devon and Cornwall Police have launched the manhunt for 30-year-old Andrew Cane, son of a 63-year-old woman named by police as Linda Sheard.
Her body was found at an address in Port Mer Close, Brixington, near Exmouth in Devon, at about 7.10pm on Wednesday.
Police initially said they wanted to trace Cane, but have since confirmed he is a murder suspect.
A blue Honda Civic, believed to have been used by Cane, was found in Bristol. It had been abandoned next to the A4, police said.
A police spokesman said Cane could be "anywhere in the country".
Officers say he is 6ft 2in and clean shaven with short brown hair.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
