The body of a soldier was found near the base of the Brecon Beacons
Police are investigating the sudden death of a soldier whose body was found in the Brecon Beacons.
The body of the soldier, who is from Dublin, was found at Corn Du, Storey Arms, close to the base of the mid-Wales mountain range.
A Dyfed Powys Police spokeswoman confirmed that what is being treated as a "sudden death" was reported at 9.42pm on Saturday.
A spokesman for the Ministry of Defence confirmed that it had been informed of the death, which was being investigated by the police.
