Funnyman Brian Conley says he is back on "top form" after falling ill during filming of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!

The 51-year-old entertainer had to leave the show - filmed in the Australian jungle - earlier this week for what ITV said were "medical reasons".

No further details about his illness were issued, but he was taken to hospital and later released.

Conley issued a statement after the latest episode of the show, which said: "I want everyone to know that I'm back on top form, fighting fit and delighted to be back with my family.

"I've read all the messages sent to my Twitter account and have been genuinely touched by all the kind words and good wishes.

"I really want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart. I'll be back soon making you all laugh."

Conley entered the jungle more than a week ago along.

Contestants voted off the show so far are Tory MP Nadine Dorries and pop singer Limahl.
