Police appeal to help find alleyway robber

4:20pm Friday 18th July 2008

NORTH Kent police are appealing for people who may have witnessed a woman being robbed to come forward.

The 46-year-old victim was robbed in an alleyway off Valley Drive, Gravesend.

She was assaulted and had her mobile phone and an address book taken.

The woman needed hospital treatment for cuts and bruises.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Natalie Collin said: "The alleyway is visible from the road which is busy.

"There are a parade of shops and a bus stop opposite, so it is possible someone either walking to or from the shops or waiting for a bus could have seen or heard something which would be of use to us."

The police are also appealing for a couple in their 30s to get in touch.

They walked past the alleyway as the assault took place at around 7pm on July 12.

Call 01474 366098 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

  • Two 14-year-old girls have been arrested and bailed in connection with the incident.
