GIANT chess and boules were on offer at a church fun day.

Around 50 people attended the event at St Peter's Church, Pickford Lane, Bexleyheath, which also had a bouncy castle and other outdoor games.

Families enjoyed a chance to have a picnic in the church grounds, while handicraft and Fairtrade stalls raised around £50 for church funds.

Vicar the Rev Jim Charles said: "We thought it went very well. The main purpose was to get people to come and have fun.

"It's an attractive church and people were able to come and have a look around."
