A 12-YEAR-OLD boy has died following a collision with a bus in Thamesmead at the weekend.

Jullian Jarratt, from Abbey Wood, died in hospital on Sunday.

The collision with a route B11 single decker bus happened Saturday (July 5) at 1.12pm in Bentham Road, near the junction with Austen Close.

He was taken by air ambulance to the Royal London Hospital where he died at 9am the following day.

There were no reports of any other injuries and there have been no arrests.

Investigating officers say Bentham Road is a busy residential area at the centre of Thamesmead and they believe there would have been a number of people in the area who may have witnessed the fatal incident.

Anyone with any information should call the incident room on 020 8285 1574.

I am very sad to hear that Jullian has sadly left this cruel world, I was one of the first people to arrive after the accident, the police and air ambulance were very quick on the scene and I must praise all the emergency services involved on Saturday lunch time.

My thoughts are also with the family and bus driver at this sad moment in time, it is a cruel world we live in made no better by the people who make comments such as above.
Sadly that is the age where children start to go out alone due to growing up that they are more at risk.

No one can or should judge what this boy done, what all us parents just hope and pray I kids dont do, so instead of making comments, just have a thought of his family.

Why indeed did this happen? Centrecomm (the organisation that helps maintain the London Bus Network) has warned bus drivers numerous times over the last couple of days about; children playing chicken with buses in West Street Erith, youths hanging onto the back of buses as they pull away from bus stops in Abbey Wood, and one of the most bizarre, a middle-aged woman in Woolwich crawls beneath a bus while it is boarding passengers, then claims that the driver ran over her. Please please please stop treating buses, and indeed any vehicle as a toy. In the wrong hands, they can be dangerous. My thoughts go out to the family of this young victim, and to the driver of the B11, who has to live with this for the rest of his life.

RIP Jullian

My thoughts go out to Julians parents, as a mother I cannot imagine what they are going through and hope I never have to find out.
I know the bus driver and his family and my thoughts go out to them too, although it was an accident it does not help the poor drivers state of mind, from my understanding there were two more children with Julian lets hope they get the help they need to get over and this and are not just swept under the carpet.
My heart goes out to everybody involved.
R.I.P. Julian xx
