Police to climb Snowdon for terminally ill colleague
SAFER neighbourhood teams from Bromley are to climb Mount Snowdon to help raise money for a terminally ill former colleague.
Kevin Arnold was a Special Constable for the Chelsfield and Pratts Bottom Safer Neighbourhood Team from February 2005 until May last year, before he joined Croydon police as a regular officer.
He has cancer of the kidneys, liver, nose and bones in his lower back.
Kevin and his wife Tina have two children and are expecting another in August.
To help raise money for Kevin and his family, members of the Chelsfield and Pratts Bottom, the Farnborough and Crofton and the Petts Wood and Knoll safer neighbourhood teams are to climb Mount Snowdon.
They plan to leave for Snowdon from Orpington at midnight on June 15, do the 3,560ft hike and return to Orpington - all within 24 hours.
To sponsor the climbers call the Chelsfield and Pratts Bottom Safer Neighbourhood Team on 020 8721 2605 or 07920 233857.
