Chance to take part in dragon boat race
DRAGON boat racing will be back this year as part of the Danson Festival.
The races will take place on the lake at Danson Park, Danson Road, Welling, on July 6.
They will be raising cash for the Anthony Nolan Trust, the charity which runs a register of potential bone marrow donors.
No experience is necessary to take part in the races.
People just need to put together a team of between 10 and 15 paddlers and a drummer, who sits at the head of the boat and drums out the rowing rhythm.
The races are open to anyone aged between 16 and 60 who can swim and is reasonably fit.
Crews will get training beforehand and will have an experienced helmsman to steer the boat.
The entry fee is £150 per team.
