Group drops in to grab volunteers
A GROUP which helps to organise volunteering opportunities in Bexley takes to the road next month.
The Volunteer Centre Bexley will be celebrating Volunteers' Week in the first week of June by taking a series of roadshows out to the community.
Based in Brampton Road, Bexleyheath, the centre runs its own drop-in sessions three times a week for people to browse through all kinds of volunteer jobs.
The centre hopes the roadshows will help it fill lots more posts and find new volunteers.
Liz Austin, a drop-in co-ordinator for the Bexley Voluntary Service Council, which runs the centre, said: "As an organisation, we could not operate without the help of our volunteers.
"They bring huge amounts of skills, knowledge and life experiences with them."
The roadshow is coming to the Asda supermarket in Bexleyheath Broadway on June 1; the Morrisons supermarket in Erith High Street on June 3 and will be at the Co-op supermarket in Welling High Street on June 4.
They will also be held in the Central Library, Townley Road, Bexleyheath, on June 5, and in The Mall in Bexleyheath Broadway on June 6 and June 7.
