Well i hope he had time to pop into Woolwich for some shopping. Or was he made to wear rose tinted glasses and not see the real Greenwich.

A fantastic honour for Greenwich, and how wonderful to see Carla here, too. Yep, Greenwich is the best place to live in London.

The Royal Observatory was closed from 2.15-4.15 because he was due to visit. I saw on News24 that he left Central london by boat at about 3.40. He wouldn't have arrived at Greenwich until about 4.10, then he attented the ceremony in the Painted Hall. I wonder if he ever got to the Observatory and if he did, how long did he stay. I was asked by a disappointed German family why the Observatory was closed for the afternoon. I told them and said are you able to return tomorrow. They said this was their last day in London. They went to the new observatory instead.

They and others may well not be able to visit again, and all because the powers that be decided the place should be shut at 2.15 and the president (if indeed he did visit) wouldn't have been there before about 5.
