A MAN has today been accused of killing a teenage cyclist in Deptford in a suspected hit-and-run.
Olatunji Johnson Adeyanju, known as TJ, died after being hit by a car at a pedestrian crossing in Deptford Church Street on March 23.
Barry Normah, 28, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.
Olatunji was a former pupil of Addey and Stanhope secondary school where he was deputy head boy and described as an “outstanding” pupil by headteacher Ann Potter.
Speaking at the time of the 17-year-old's death, Ms Potter said: "We are all deeply shocked and saddened by Olatunji's tragic death.
"He was an outstanding deputy head boy who was an inspiration to all of us.
"He was unfailingly cheerful, optimistic and had a great future ahead of him."
Normah will appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on September 25.
