A TERRITORIAL Army reservist has been rewarded for his contribution and dedication to the forces.
Warrant Officer John Welfare, 57, from Grove Park, has been awarded the Lord Lieutenant of London’s certificate for meritorious service.
The award, which is one of the highest honours in the forces, recognises Warrant Officer Welfare for his contribution, dedication and commitment to the Territoral Army.
He said: “I am very proud and honoured. It means all the hard work and standards I have set myself will be a guide to others.”
Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Chris Day said: “Warrant Officer Welfare is an absolutely steadfast, reliable, dedicated and motivated volunteer soldier. He is widely respected by all whom deal with him.”
