A 20-YEAR-OLD man is seriously ill in hospital after being stabbed in New Cross.

Police were called to Shardeloes Road at about 4.20am where paramedics were treating a black man who had been stabbed.

The victim has been taken to a south London hospital where his condition is described as serious but stable.

There have been no arrests over the stabbing.

It comes less than 48 hours after 17-year-old Kwame Kwame Ofosu-Asare, from Catford, was stabbed to death in Brixton.

A police spokesman says there is nothing to suggest the two incidents are related but it is early days in the investigation so they are not ruling anything out.
