The victim of a scam in Orpington has said she believes the man stabbed during a botched burglary in Hither Green was the same man who targeted her.

The woman, who asked not to be named, was left shaken after a group of men forced their way into her home earlier this year claiming they were investigating a burglary.

No arrests were ever made in relation to the incident.

But after seeing the photo of Henry Vincent, 37, on the news, she "was left in no doubt" it was the same man who scammed her.

Vincent was killed after suffering a stab wound on April 4 in Hither Green after entering the home of pensioner Richard Osborn-Brooks.

After claiming to recognise Vincent, the Orpington woman told News Shopper: “I am a tough bird, but it is a bit scary.”

She said she was “300 per cent” behind pensioner Osborn-Brooks who police say will face no further action after Vincent's death.

She added: “If I had known about the tributes, I would have taken all those flowers down and destroyed them.

“These people are the lowest of the low. My godson told me that thank goodness I played my hand. The minute they left the front door I called 999.

The woman added she did not recognise the man police suspected as being Vincent's accomplice, 28-year-old Billy Jeeves, who is still wanted in connection to the Hither Green burglary.
