A cricket match at The Oval has been suspended after a crossbow bolt appeared to be fired into the middle of the pitch.
Spectators were evacuated from the stands at the cricket ground and armed police are on the scene.
Players were also ordered off the pitch after it was spotted by an umpire during a match between Surrey and Middlesex.
Police were made aware of the incident at 4.30pm today (August 31) and are still at the scene.
There are no injuries reported and no arrests have been made as enquiries continue.
The incident is not being treated as terrorist-related.
