A Lewisham swimmer swam 26km across a lake in Switzerland in just over eight hours.
Rebecca Stewart trains with the swimming club Saxon Crown in Lewisham and she travelled to Lake Zurich to compete in the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Swim.
The 30th year of the event saw 91 swimmers from 17 nations take the swim, with Rebecca being the fastest woman there.
She completed the swim in eight hours and 11 minutes, winning the women master’s category solo swim.
The international sports event is been organized by the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team yearly since 1987 and was inspired by meditation master and peace philosopher Sri Chinmoy.
