Flooding at a central London train station is causing chaos for commuters this morning.

A leak at London Cannon Street has closed two platforms, meaning trains on the Woolwich, Bexleyheath and Hayes lines may be cancelled.

The disruption, caused by a leak in the building above the station, is expected until 12pm.

Any train services running to and from the station may be cancelled or diverted to and from London Blackfriars.

Plumbing staff are working on the problem but the leak, which began on Monday, is persisting so the affected Platforms cannot be used this morning.

Passengers are advised they may need to plan an alternative route, or use Charing Cross, London Bridge or Blackfriars stations.

Tickets are being accepted on the London Underground between Southeastern terminal stations.
