Lewisham Police arrested a drunk man who had passed out at a bus stop and been sick on himself and his son yesterday (September 11).

Police were called to the Lewisham Hospital bus stop on the High Street by a concerned member of the public at 11.20pm.

When officers arrived, they found a male in his thirties who was asleep and appeared to be intoxicated.

The man was covered in his own vomit and he had also been sick on his three-year-old son.

He was arrested for being drunk in charge of a child.

Lewisham Police told News Shopper officers had no medical concerns for the toddler, but the possible dangers were clear.

He was taken to a close family members house to be looked after.

It was not deemed necessary by police in this circumstance to take the child into police protection.

Social services were informed of the incident.

An investigation is now underway.
