A man was stabbed multiple times as two would be robbers tried to steal his Rolex watch in New Cross.

The victim, a 24-year-old man, was getting into his car in Primrose Walk at around 11pm on September 3 when he was approached by two men who demanded he hand over his watch.

As the victim tried to shut the car door he was attacked by the armed men, who knifed him in both legs and his left foot.

Having failed to steal the watch, the two men fled the scene and the victim was taken to hospital by paramedics.

The first suspect is described as black, aged 18-20, of average build and around 5ft 10ins.

He had short black hair and was wearing jeans and a striped light and grey top.

The second suspect was also black, aged around 18, 5ft 9ins and of a slighter build.

He was dressed all in black with a hood up and a cap underneath.

Anyone who was in the area and saw or heard anything suspicious is asked to call police in Lewisham on 101.
