Labour candidate Sue Hordijenko was named the new councillor for Bellingham ward last week after a by-election.
Ms Hordijenko, a public engagement specialist and fitness instructor, came out way ahead of the rest of the pack with 940 votes.
Conservative candidate Ross Archer received 302 votes and Liberal Democrat Ed Veasy came in with 180.
David Hamilton, representing Lewisham People Before Profit, got 129 votes and UKIP's Edwin Smith came in last with 104.
The turnout for the by-election on Thursday, July 21 was 16.3% and 1,657 ballot papers were issued.
Two ballots were rejected.
