A man in his 40s was arrested after police found a cannabis factory housing more than 40 plants in a Hither Green loft.
Lewisham Police conducted a warrant at an address in Theodore Road this morning, where they found the plants in the loft.
They also found evidence that more plants had previously been grown in a double bedroom.
A police spokesman confirmed they acted on information and concerns from local residents about drug dealing and the 'suspicious smell of cannabis' in the area.
The man was arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis and abstraction of electricity.
The electrics at the cannabis factory had been bypassed. Could have resulted in a major house fire. #NotAnymore pic.twitter.com/bcvzb8WkQJ
