Police recovered five knives and a stash from drugs after raiding a house in New Cross.

Officers were suited and booted early this morning (January 29) to execute a drugs warrant on a house in the Milton Court Estate, in Nynehead Street.

They had received intelligence that drugs and possibly a gun were inside.

No arrests were made as no one was home at the time.

Police are trying to trace a 22-year-old male in connection with the address.

PC Katie Wells, who put the operation together, said: “The seizure of lock knives is especially pleasing.

“To find five and take them off the streets is far more rewarding, particularly in light of recent knife crime across London.

“Hopefully we've made Deptford and New Cross a safer place to live and work."

Enquiries are ongoing.
