A 48-year-old man has pleaded not guilty to causing unnecessary suffering to an animal after a dead dog was found hanged by its neck in Mottingham.

Dexter Everand James, of Beaconsfield Road, was remanded in custody at Bromley Magistrates’ Court yesterday (October 8).

He was arrested after police were called to Beaconsfield Parade at around 6.50pm on Tuesday and found the body of a dead dog.

The animal had been tied to railings outside a flat with a rope around its neck.

He will next appear at the same court on October 13.
