Police have renewed their appeal for information after a 17-year-old was murdered in Brockley.

Nassem Galleze was travelling in a Vauxhall Corsa last Saturday (September 26) when it was attacked by a gang of youths.

As the car left the Turnham Estate at speed, a large lump of concrete was launched at the car.

It smashed the windscreen and caused the car to collide with a lamppost along St Norbert Road, towards Loampit Vale.

Emergency services, including London’s Air Ambulance, attended the scene at took Nassem to hospital.

The teenager, from Roundtable Road in Grove Park later died there, and a post-mortem gave the cause of death as multiple injuries.

The other two occupants suffered minor injuries.

The suspects ran off, and nearly a week after the teenager’s death police have renewed their appeal for anyone with information or witnesses to come forward.

Nasem’s father, Hakim, said: "I am numb with pain. Every time my phone rings or there's a knock at the door, I pray it is Nassem.

"Our beloved Nassem's life has been brutally ended and my family are devastated.”

Detective Chief Inspector Noel McHugh of the Homicide and Major Crime Command, who’s leading the murder investigation, urged people to come forward.

He said: “We know the incident was also witnessed by other passers-by and residents in the area and again, we would encourage anyone who saw anything or has any information to come forward. Please do not assume that we already have the important information that you hold.”
