London's Air Ambulance has secured a second emergency helicopter, after a seven month long fundraising campaign topped £4m.
The life-saving charity, which hopes to have the helicopter operational by early next year, has thanked the "generous contributions" from the people and organisations of London.
An impressive £4million has been raised so far since the start of the Your London, Your Helicopter campaign, with another £2million needed to cover the costs of operating the second aircraft.

Graham Hodgkin, chief executive officer at London’s Air Ambulance, said the charity is thrilled by their latest purchase.
He said: "While more money still needs to be raised and there is still more work to do to get the aircraft ready for UK HEMS operations, this is a truly exciting development for London and the biggest step-change in our service resilience in the charity’s history.
"Thank you to all those who have already contributed."
Through the purchase of a second helicopter and by extending its daylight flying hours in the summer months, the charity estimates it will be able to reach a further 400 patients per year.
London's Air Ambulance was used in Bromley earlier this week, when a woman fell from a third-storey flat in Widmore Road.
