Police are appealing for witnesses following a hit-and-run after the car was stolen and dumped in Forest Hill.

On March 29 police were called to a crash between a car and a moped around 6.30am in East Dulwich.

The driver of the car, a black ford fiesta, did not stop at the scene.

It is thought to have fled the scene heading towards Sydenham.

The car was later reported as stolen from a house in Forest Hill.

The rider of the Honda moped was taken to hospital with leg injuries.

The 41-year-old man has been discharged but is still receiving treatment.

One witness told another witness - who was on the phone to the police – he believed the driver was a woman.

Detective Constable Neal Pryce, from the south east Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU), said: "Despite extensive enquiries, we are yet to charge anyone in connection with this serious collision which left the rider with leg injuries.

"I would appeal to this witness to contact officers, as the information he has may be pertinent to the investigation."

On March 29 a 20-year-old woman from Sydenham suspicion of dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision. 

She has since been eliminated from enquiries and released with no further action.
