A man was talked down from jumping off a railway bridge in Deptford last night (August 19) before being taken to hospital.
The man was spotted in a distressed manner on a bridge in Friendly Street at around 9.30pm.
When Met Police officers arrived he threatened to jump.

A spokeswoman for the Met said police backup was called and eventually the officers were able to talk the man out of jumping.
She said: "The man eventually climbed down and was taken to hospital where he was referred to the mental health team."
Met Police cordoned off the road whilst officers were at the scene.
