A teenage girl suffered a gruesome head injury after she was turfed out of a New Cross nightclub.

Jodie Hills visited The Venue in Clifton Rise on Friday night and claims she was thrown out and pushed onto railings by a doorman in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The 19-year-old suffered a 10-inch cut to her forehead and a broken nose and was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service paramedics where she received 28 stitches.

But bosses at The Venue claim her injuries were caused when she fell outside the club after she had been ejected.

Her sister Lauren Hills posted a message accompanied by a bloody picture of the head injury on the nightclub’s Facebook page on Saturday.

She wrote: “Early hours of this morning, a staff member from the Venue thought it was OK to attack my beautiful sister leaving her with a broken nose and 28 stitches in her head.

“To add to it, also left her on the pavement and shut the doors, basically left for dead you might as well say.

“If it hadn’t been for a young girl flagging down an ambulance who knows how long she would have laid there.”

The image has gone viral on Facebook and Twitter with social media users calling for action to be taken against the doorman alleged to be responsible.

Two ‘Justice For Jodie’ Facebook groups have been set up with some members saying The Venue should be closed down completely.

Her friends plan to hand out leaflets bearing a photo of her injury to revellers visiting the club at the weekend.

A spokesman for The Venue said: "In response to the incident involving a young lady who was injured on Friday night we are taking this matter extremely seriously.

"The Venue would like to say her injuries were sustained outside the club as a result of her falling after she was ejected from the premises.

"They were not inflicted by a member of staff as has been stated and the club CCTV proves this and will be handed over to the police whom we are cooperating with fully in their ongoing investigation.

"We wish Jodie a full and speedy recovery and will continue to give our full co-operation to the police in their investigation of this unfortunate incident."
