Residents successfully lobbied to close a house in Downham after complaining of ‘anti-social’ behaviour.

Occupants of the house in Baring Road, Downham, face a one month closure order issued by Bromley Magistrates.

Neighbours were concerned with the intimidating behaviour associated with the house.

Downham Safer Neighbourhoods Team (SNT) gathered information on the house before applying for the order.

MORE TOP STORIES PC Chris Wren, from Downham SNT, said: "The lifestyle of those who indulge in anti-social behaviour has a direct affect on others within the community. This can manifest itself in various ways such as crime and disorder nuisance and visual affects such as discarded drug paraphernalia.

"The closure of these premises sends a clear message to those who allow their premises to be associated with disorder and nuisance.

“The message is that their lifestyle will not be allowed to directly affect neighbours or harm communities and that if they continue, their premises may be subject to a Premises Closure Order application."
