A pedestrian is in a serious condition after being hit by a car in Catford.
Police were called around 4.56pm yesterday (June 17) to reports of a pedestrian being hit by a car in Bellingham Road at the junction with Conisborough Crescent.
Officers attended and the male was taken to a south London hospital where his condition is described as serious.
The driver of the car stopped at the scene and there have been no arrests at this stage.
Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are carrying our enquiries into the circumstances of the incident.
Beckenham Hill Road photographer Jonny Fidget, 24, who was at the scene, said: "There seemed to be a lot of blood on the road, high impact.
"I think the car went straight into someone who was crossing the road or getting out their car."
He added: "I didn't see any debris just a lot of blood.
"People are in a rush trying to get home at that time.
"The road used to have speed bumps but the council recently resurfaced it."
Anyone with any information is asked to call the witness line on 020 8285 1574.
