Sunny and rainy weather heading this way for the bank holiday weekend.

The late May bank holiday, Monday (May 25), is set to have a mixed bag of weather but is still good enough to get the BBQ out.

We all know the weekend officially begins on a Friday, and tomorrow (May 22), will have the best weather over the entire three days, according to the Met Office.

Temperatures will peak in the afternoon, reaching 20 degrees which should last until the evening.

MORE TOP STORIES But thunderstorms and rain are set to blight our skies at night, with lows of 11 degrees.

Saturday sees highs of 17 degrees, at its height from early afternoon to evening.

There will be lows of 10 degrees with cloud cover for most of the day.

Sunday will be an even warmer day, with temperatures soaring to 19 degrees, but clouds and rain will accompany the balmy conditions with lows of nine degrees.

The bank holiday itself, Monday, will only see temperatures climb to 14 degrees, with lows of eight throughout the day.

The best weather will be in the afternoon with some dark clouds earlier in the day, which is not expected to clear.
