A Sydenham tower block was evacuated for the second time in as many days following an anti freeze leak from its solar panels.
Around 45 residents were evacuated from Orchard Court in Bell Green at around 1pm yesterday after further reports of a strong chemical stench at the block of flats.
It is believed to have been an anti-freeze leak from the pressurised pipe work connected to the solar panels.
Station Manager, Mick Sayer, who was at the scene, said: "Firefighters have worked hard in quite arduous conditions to contain the leak and are using a large environment pack to contain the vapour and liquid emitting from the pipe installation."
Firefighters used salvage sheets to cover the panels.
Residents have been allowed to return to their homes.
No one was injured.
