Plans to build 296 homes in apartment blocks ranging from eight to 12 storeys in Sydenham have been submitted to Bromley Council.

The new development, near Worsley Bridge Road close to Lower Sydenham station, would include space for 488 bikes and 222 cars spread between underground and side street parking.

24 of these would be designated for blue badge holders.

MORE TOP STORIES The homes planned are a mix of 148 one bed, 135 two bed and 13 three bed apartments.

107 flats, or 36 per cent of the total, would be affordable housing units and all flats would either have access to a balcony or roof garden. 

The planning application is phase two of the Dylon scheme, submitted by West and Partners on behalf of Relta Ltd.

The first phase, which was approved on appeal, was for an additional 223 homes, a crèche and cafe.

If phase two is approved, apartment blocks ranging from eight to 12 storeys high will be built.

A new road to facilitate the development is planned, which would also see existing buildings demolished to make way for the new homes.
