A thief who posed as a window cleaner has been jailed for two years after a string of burglaries, frauds and thefts across London.

Levi Bradbury, 31, from Southwark, visited blocks of flats in Lewisham posing as a window cleaner and persuaded residents to pay him up front.

After receiving from £15 to £25 a time, Bradbury then told the victims he needed to go and get their change and would clean the windows when he returned.

But he never returned and the windows were never cleaned.

During three incidents last year Bradbury offered to go to the cash point for his victims to withdraw money from their accounts.

After receiving their PIN numbers, Bradbury withdrew £300, £200 and £50 from their accounts and only returned one of the cards.

He also stole the mobile phone of one victim after leaving the address, telling her he would return with change.

The phone was found the following day buried under a tree using the Find My Phone app.

Bradbury was jailed for two years at Snarebrook Crown Court on March 31 after being convicted of six counts of burglary, three counts of fraud and four counts of theft.

He also visited flats in Southwark, Hackney and Tower Hamlets.

Detective Sergeant Kelly George of the Met Police's North East Detection Unit said: "Bradbury is a likeable, chatty, charming man who uses his friendly personality to gain the trust of his victims.

"I would like to remind the public that they should not invite anyone into their home unless they have the correct identification on them and do not hand over your bank cards or PIN numbers to anyone."

Anyone believing they have been a victim of crime should call police on 101 or 999 if you see anyone acting suspiciously.
