A Forest Hill church run by a priest who used to work on Concorde is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its rebuild with a series of events.
St George's Church, Vancouver Road, is currently under the stewardship of Father John Ackland - previously a senior manager in British Airways - and regularly hosts cubs and brownies, political consultations, children's birthday parties, along with traditional Sunday services at 10am.
Beginning its anniversary celebrations with a court case drama about the missing body of Christ called The Vigil on March 30 and 31, events continue throughout the coming months.
On April 23 at 7.30pm a candle-lit procession will take place through the streets, led by the Bishop of Woolwich, and from April 22 to April 26 the church will also host its own flower festival.
The celebrations will climax on May 4 at 1pm with a Royal Wedding-style street barbecue party.
