An arts festival will celebrate the lives and legends of Deptford’s past.
Coming out of the old Arklow Road Trading Estate, Deptford Stories will launch with a preview evening from 5pm to 9pm on October 31 and a Family Open Day from 11am to 6pm on November 1 before being open by appointment only until November 16.
Empty warehouses and workshops will be transformed by all kinds of art, from sculptures to installations, prints, light displays, textiles and tiling.
There will also be a live music and theatre, the latter from immersive theatre group In(ep)trepid, who will perform a re-enactment of playwright Christopher Marlowe’s last night (he is rumoured to have died in Deptford).
Refreshments will come from Pig and Rig’s hog roast as well as Black Cab Coffee Co and Brockley Brewery.
