As Friday sees the start of the London Fashion Week fashionistas from Forest Hill will be hosting their very own take on the much anticipated event starting next Thursday.

The annual Forest Hill Fashion Week aims to showcase local talent in a festival of craft, fashion and design.

Organised by a group of volunteers with local shops, cafes and bars founder Louise Brooks said she hopes the festival will raise Forest Hill’s community spirit, creativity and commitment to high street regeneration.

She said: "We're looking forward to delivering the biggest and best Forest Hill Fashion Week to date. For this festival of fashion we are aiming to highlight Forest Hill's strong arts identity, as well as providing a platform for the growing crafts and makers community.”

“We have some really talented creatives in Forest Hill and this event will be a celebration of their talent."

Local craft shop Stag and Bow will be attempting to make 120 garments for sale during the week in aid of female empowerment and education in Sierra Leone.

A total of 18 designers will participate in the show which also includes a catwalk and wrap party, workshops and exhibitions and a night of bar hopping and musical variety.
