A WORKING mum of three has praised a Forest Hill nursery’s webcam which allows her to log on and watch her little ones play.

Pitta Patta Day Nursery, in St Germans Road, has cameras fitted in its rooms and garden for parents to share in their tots’ activities while in the office or at home.

The nursery, for children aged three months to five years, uses security-encrypted NurseryCam which parents can log onto and watch moving real-time images for "peace of mind".

News Shopper: Working mum Nadia Guinoubi praises Pitta Patta Day Nursery's webcam

Nadia Guinoubi has sent her three children to the nursery and believes the system should be rolled out everywhere.

She said: "I find it brilliant, that is why I picked this nursery, because as a working mother when you can’t see your child all day you miss them.

"It makes me feel great, it makes me feel like I’m with them.

"It should be everywhere."

The 41 year old works part time as a personal assistant for a cosmetic company and travels every day from Catford for the service but says it is worth it.

Ms Guinoubi, whose four-year-old son Luka has just graduated from the nursery, said: "What I have seen was amazing.

"When it was my child’s birthday, I brought them in with cake and little bags to share and being able to see the birthday party was amazing.

"I saw him taking the cake and blowing out the candles, I thought it was just perfect – being able to share the moment with him."

Director of Pitta Patta Jacqueline Hussein stressed the safe log on details of the system - which has passwords just for parents - and dismissed critics who suggest it is pandering to a ‘Big Brother’-style society.

The mother of four said: "It gives parents peace of mind. Choosing childcare is the biggest decision parents have to make for their precious children.

"The parents really appreciate it – especially for babies and young children and for mums that have to return to work.

"We are very transparent. We try to create a home from home."

She added: "It is used in the right way. The right tools given to the right people can be useful which is what it is."

The device was fitted when the private nursery - which also offers children the choice of learning three languages - was launched in 2006.

Pre-school leavers recently marked their journey to big school with gowns and mini mortar boards at a nursery graduation ceremony with MP Dame Joan Ruddock.
