Catford murder: Simon Forgie charged with killing his mother

A 42-YEAR-OLD man has been charged with the murder of his mother in Catford.

Simon Forgie, who lived with his 79-year-old mum Pernella Forgie in Glenfarg Road, was charged yesterday evening with her death.

Police were called to their address at around 1:30pm on Wednesday after reports of a stabbing.

Mrs Forgie was taken to Lewisham Hospital but died later the same day.

A post-mortem investigation was held at Greenwich mortuary yesterday and gave the cause of death as multiple stab wounds.

Simon Forgie will appear before Camberwell Green Magistrates Court this morning.

Detectives from the Homicide and Serious Crime Command are investigating.
