Lewisham Council offers home modernisation loan and help
10:46am Wednesday 5th December 2012 in Lewisham By Mark Chandler
HELP is on offer from Lewisham Council to modernise and maintain your home.
Lewisham Council can help home owners and private tenants access a grant of £3,000 and an interest-free loan up to the value of £27,000 in order to make improvements and repairs.
Certain conditions apply, and applications are subject to means testing. Any loan would be secured against the property.
The council also runs a home improvement service that can help older or disabled home owners make repairs and adaptations, along with filling out forms, building survey advice and getting estimates from contractors.
It is also available to who are not disabled themselves but have either a child or disabled dependent relative living with them.
To find out more visit lewisham.gov.uk/housinggrants or call 020 8314 6622 for grants and 020 8314 6344 for the home improvement service.
