A CATFORD club took part in a fundraising game of extreme bingo - while 60 feet up a tree.

There were 12 members of Mecca Catford, based in Plassy Road, who took part in the giddy game - followed by a 100ft zip wire back to earth.

The team chose the Go Ape experience at Leeds Castle in Kent and the stunt raised money for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Organiser Romaine Lee, who is a trainee general manager at Mecca Catford, said: "It was a fantastic experience for all of us. Not only was it great fun but even better to know that we were raising money for such a wonderful cause."

The event raised more than £400 for Marie Curie and the club plans to host more charity events throughout the year.
